Obituary of Josephine M. Aiello

Josephine M. Aiello (nee Borghese), age 91, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph (2011): loving mother of Mary-Lynn Stellate and her husband, Gregory, Lisa Aiello, Sophie-Jean Pinto, Joseph Aiello and his wife, Karen; cherished grandmother of Vanessa Behdaoui and her husband, Mike, Gregory Stellate and his wife, Karen, Tammy Frisone and her husband, Dennis, Richard Imparato, Marissa DePietro and her husband, Archie, Derek Pinto, Joseph Aiello and his wife, Mary, and Jesse Aiello, devoted great-grandmother of ten. Josephine was born in Jersey City, lived for a short time in Bayonne, and came to Staten Island as a young child. She was a great cook, whose specialties included meatballs and potato croquettes. Josephine was known to enjoy a martini when dining out. In her spare time she enjoyed shopping for clothing, jewelry, shoes and purses. One of her favorite stores was for the former Garber Brothers in Port Richmond. Most important, she loved spending time with her grandchildren; she would never yell at them and they could do whatever they wanted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday, 9:15 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church at 10 am. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 pm.
