Obituary of Catherine B. Palmieri

Catherine B. Palmieri (nee Oppedisano), age 86, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2017 at Staten Island University Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Palmieri (2005); loving mother of Frank Palmieri, Jr. and his wife Lisa, Gerard (Jimmy) and his wife, Barbara, Derek and his wife, Jennifer, the late Salvatore and the late Patricia Ann Palmieri; devoted mother-in-law of Therese; cherished grandmother of Anthony, Angela, Marissa Palmieri-Rios and her husband, Michael, Gerard, Gianna, Nicholas, Diana, Frank (little Frank) and his wife, Lisa, Salvatore and his wife, Natasha, Jenna, Olivia, and Ryan; fond great-grandmother of Frank, Patricia, Catherine and Aiden, and the late Brianna; dear stepbrother of Carlo Vacca. Catherine was born in Brooklyn in 1931. She was raised in the Borough Park section and attended High School there. She relocated to Staten Island in the early 1960's. Some of her hobbies included doll collecting, crafts, enjoying television, music, and singing. She enjoyed shopping, especially from QVC and was known as the "QVC Queen" by the UPS men. In her youth she sang a song that was aired on the radio. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday at 9 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm.
