Obituary of Frank Loiacono
Frank Loiacono of Westerleigh died Monday night at home surrounded by his family. Frank was born in Bari, Italy on June 24, 1943. He immigrated to the United States in 1967 to further his education and met his beloved wife, Toni Ann. Last year, they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary.
Frank earned a Bachelor of Engineering from Richmond College. He went on to earn a Master of Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and a Master of Environmental and Computer Engineering from the New York Institute of Technology. Frank worked at Con Edison as an electrical engineer for many years before retiring to spend time with his family.
Frank was predeceased by his parents, Maria and Angelo and his siblings, Nicola, Anna, and Elisa. He is survived by his beloved wife, Toni Ann (Funicello), and daughters, Grace and Laura. He is also survived by his brothers Fillipo and Antonio, and sister Gina as well as many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Frank’s name to Animal Care Centers of New York, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Family and Friends may visit the Matthew Funeral Home 2508 Victory Blvd. Staten Island, NY on Saturday 2/8 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 8PM.
