Basilio “Basil” Aragona

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather

Basil Aragona left us suddenly on February 9^th at the age of 72. Born in the town of Messina in Sicily to Salvatore and Leonara Aragona (Bongiovanni). Basil came to New York at the age of 2. Basil loved spending time with his family and was one of 7 children. He married his childhood sweetheart Cathy Aragona (Bily) and together they raised two sons Jason (Kelly) and Basil (Christina) in Westerleigh. Basil owned and operated Aragona General Contracting for many years and was a master carpenter. He was always happy and kind to all who knew him. Basil loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening and his 3 grandchildren Kaitlyn, Giovanni, and Joseph.

Family and friends may visit the Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd., on Wednesday 2/12 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Thursday 2/13 at 12PM.
