In Loving Memory of Antonio “Tony” Amato IV
1985 - 2025
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Antonio “Tony” Amato IV. Due to a complication during recent surgery, Tony passed unexpectedly on February 17, 2025. Tony was a devoted husband, a cherished son, a beloved brother, a proud uncle, and a loyal friend to many. His kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Tony dedicated his career to the Department of Sanitation of New York (DSNY), where he worked tirelessly and took great pride in serving his community. His strong work ethic and generous spirit made him a valued colleague and friend.
Beyond his career, Tony was the heart of his family. He had a way of making everyone feel special, always ready with a warm smile and a joke to brighten any moment. Tony was a true animal lover and cared deeply for his beloved dogs, Penny and Roxy. In his spare time, Tony enjoyed feeding the ducks at Willowbrook Park. His presence brought joy to those around him, and his absence leaves an immeasurable void.
Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Tony’s life at his wake, which will be held on Friday, February 21st from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Matthew Funeral Home (2508 Victory Blvd).
