Obituary of Irene "Lizzy" Brown
Born December 5th, 1955, in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn to Carolyn and Bernard Fegeley, Irene Elizabeth Brown, better known as “Liz” or “Lizzy”, was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt. Though she moved to Staten Island eventually, Liz still brought her Brooklyn swagger to every room she entered.
For those close to Liz, know that she had a rough and tough exterior but had a heart of gold deep down inside. She loved surprising everyone with little things she found on her shopping adventures – or online. If she loved you, she made sure you knew that in every way, shape, and form, even if that was through her “I told you so” stare.
Retired, Liz previously worked for such places as Spear, Leeds, & Kellogg and Richmond University Medical Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching her crime shows, baking her infamous zucchini pies and chocolate chip cake, as well as quilting + scrapbooking.
Liz is survived by her husband of 38 years, George; her children, Scott and his fiancée Amanda; and Caitlin and her husband, Robert Scragg. She is also survived by her mother, Carolyn, as well as her sisters Carol, Jayne, Jeanette, Louise, Diane, and her brother Paul. We also cannot forget her beloved golden doodle, Charlie Brown.
