Louis Peter Ford, beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin, neighbor , and friend passed away on the 17th of March, 2025, at the age of 69 at his home in Mariners Harbor, Staten Island.
Louie was born on April 1, 1955 in Queens, New York but grew up in Harlem until he moved with his family to Staten Island, as a teenager.
He flourished here, making life-long connections within the community. Louie loved God, his family, his neighbors, and his friends.
Louie was always there when you needed him no matter the time of day or night. Always eager and willing to lend a helping hand. Louie enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved to cook barbecue and loved to eat. He was the perfect host, always wanting everyone to be happy and to enjoy themselves at social gatherings.
Louie was an exceptionally kind soul and always made people feel welcome at his home.
He loved jazz, hanging out with friends and his Johnny Walker Red.
Louie graduated from McKee high School.
He always loved working with his hands and could build just about anything.
For a time, Louie had his own contracting business, building houses in Upstate New York.
Although he was indeed a "Jack of all trades" he was especially gifted with electrical and plumbing, which eventually led to him working for the MTA as a plumber until he retired.
Even after retiring, he continued to work on various contracting projects. He just couldn't be still. It's what gave him joy.
