Some may say Geri's greatest role was that of Mrs. Camalari in Marlena's school project, but all of us that were lucky enough to have Geri in our lives know her greatest role was as Julia's mom! Geri was a wonderful mother and friend and will be missed - until we meet again.

Geri often told people that we knew each other before we were born as our mothers were friends and pregnant at the same time. I came along in July of 1951 and Geri followed in December. I remember playing with her when we were really young and then the memories faded. Fast forward to September of 1965 when both of us reconnected when we met up as freshman at Countess Moore High School. It was like we had always been together. She and I along with Karen, Sally, Terry, and Val became fast friends and were always seen together around the school, frequently referred to as "The Six." Those were the days, and I often think back to those days with fond memories.
A few years after graduating there was a disconnect and I did not see Geri again until our 50th high school reunion on October 19, 2019. I walked into the school, saw Geri at a table, walked over said hello and we hugged and kissed and became great friends all over again. Since then, Geri and I saw each other often, meeting for lunch, reconnecting with her mother who I called Aunt Helen and meeting her daughter Julia, as a grown woman, for the first time. We texted and called each other for all the holidays and met up at times at the JCC. The last time I saw her was on Friday, April 4th when we met up at Jimmy Max for lunch. We spoke about getting together more often and I tried to talk her into learning how to play Mah Jong. We had good laugh, hugged and parted ways to go home. I will miss Geri more than words can express... she was vibrant, funny, loyal, forgiving and so much more. And Jules, I want you to know that you were the love of her life...she spoke about you non-stop and was so proud of you and all your accomplishments. I pray she will rest in peace.
