Obituary of Joseph M. Narducci

Joseph Narducci, 103, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025.  Born in Monacilioni, Campobasso,Italy to the late Domenico and Marianna Narducci (nee Martino) in 1921, Joe immigrated to the United States when he was 13 years old, settling in West Brighton with his family.

Joe was a graduate of Curtis High School. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard serving his country from 1942 - 1946 before pursuing higher education, earning a business degree from Wagner College in 1949.

He worked for many years as a tractor operator for Post Construction Company and was later hired by the NYC Department of Sanitation holding the same position from 1969 - 1984.

Joe was an avid golfer for more than 50 years and a lifetime NY Yankees fan.  He was a member of the Joseph F. Merrill American Legion Post and enjoyed playing pinochle, spending the winter months in Florida and eating pasta.  In his later years, he discovered his culinary skills and experimented with many different recipes, but his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Josephine Narducci (nee Teriaco) with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring marriage for 72 years, his sister Bernadette Valenza, and his brother Michael Narducci.

He was the devoted father to Donna Narducci and Debra (Daniel) Messina; loving grandfather to Daniel (Alexandra) Messina and Lianne (Stephen) Erosa; cherished great-grandfather to Emma and Ellie Messina and Adeline, Ethan, and Delilah Erosa; and fond uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with love of family and tradition, his passing is not just a time for mourning, but also for celebrating his long life that was lived with joy and an abundance of love.  His long journey on this earth has ended, but the stories, lessons, and love he shared will forever remain with us.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made to Richmond University Medical Center in memory of Joseph.
