Obituary of James V. LiVolsi
In Loving Memory of James "Jimmy" LiVolsi
1947 - 2025
James "Jimmy" LiVolsi, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home beside his devoted wife Isabelle on May 1st, 2025. He was 77 years old.
Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1947, Jimmy was the youngest of four children born to Angelina and Joseph LiVolsi. Affectionately nicknamed "Jimmy Red" for his auburn hair, he grew up surrounded by the vibrant life of Brooklyn alongside his siblings Joe, Patty, and Terry.
Though Jimmy faced the hardship of losing his parents as a teenager, he carried through life with unwavering strength, resilience, and a dry, witty sense of humor that could light up a room - even in his most difficult moments. He was sharp, funny, and deeply loyal to the people he loved.
Jimmy built a successful career in credit collection, working with several top men's fashion companies before retiring in 1995. But his true passions were found outside the office: he was an extraordinarily talented musician. A gifted piano player who also loved to play the guitar and drums, Jimmy brought music and joy to countless family gatherings.
In 1970, fate brought Jimmy and Isabelle together on a train in Brooklyn. Though known as a bit of a ladies' man in his younger days, he was instantly smitten - and the rest is history. They married on June 12, 1971, and built a beautiful life together filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
Jimmy was a proud and loving father to Suzanne, born in 1974, and Marianne, born in 1981. In 1976, the family moved to Staten Island to be closer to his brother Joe and their extended family. He was a man who would give you the shirt off his back, always going above and beyond to ensure his wife and daughters were safe, happy, and loved.
He was later blessed with two granddaughters, Isabella and Alexa, who were the lights of his life. Known as a beloved brother-in-law and uncle to many nieces and nephews, Jimmy's warmth, generosity, and sense of fun made him unforgettable to everyone who knew him.
Jimmy found joy in life's simple pleasures - family dinners, music, and traveling the world with Isabelle by his side. He will be remembered most for his kind heart, his quiet strength, and the unconditional love he gave to those around him.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Isabelle; his daughters Suzanne LiVolsi and Marianne LiVolsi; his son-in-law Brian; his granddaughters Isabella and Alexa; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
