Obituary of Claudia Tedeschi Sheiman

Claudia Tedeschi Sheiman, 74, of Meiers Corners, passed away on May 5, 2025.  She was the beloved wife of Michael J. Sheiman for 34 years; loving mother of MaryElena Sheiman and her husband Kameron Williams; cherished grandmother of Charlotte Michaela; dear sister of the late Valerie Cruz (late Carlos); fond half-sister of the late Nicoletta Koza (late Al).  She was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Claudia was born and raised in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, NY and graduated from the High School of Art and Design and earned her bachelor's degree from the School of Visual Arts.  She taught photography at Mercer College and Trenton State College.  Claudia was an excellent cook who "cooked with her heart."  She also enjoyed gardening, playing solitaire, and travelling across the country.  Claudia was very free-spirited and very independent.  She also loved to share stories about her family growing up and recalling her fondest memories.  Most of all, Claudia loved playing with her granddaughter and speaking in Italian to her.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, 5/13, departing at 10:00 AM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10:30 AM.  Interment will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island, NY.  Family and friends may visit on Monday, 5/12, from 4:00 to 9:00 PM.
