Obituary of Ann C. Denora

Ann "Nina" Denora, nee Partenope, 91, Staten Island, NY, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, in Staten Island University South, surrounded by family.

Ann was born to Concetta and Matteo Partenope, in Bulls Head, on June 28, 1933. She moved to New Brighton upon marriage and settled in Annadale e at the time of her death.

Ann was married to Joseph Denora on September 16, 1951. They were married for 57 years until Joseph's passing in 2009.

 Ann worked for The City of New York, for the Department of Aging and implemented many programs for the senior citizens of Staten Island. Along with her husband they opened Queen Ann Car Wash in 1976, which became a family enterprise still in operation today.

 Ann enjoyed traveling with family to Pennsylvania, especially Cove Haven and frequent trips to Atlantic City. She enjoyed making big family Sunday dinners. She also enjoyed watching her favorite team the NY Yankees and spending time with her loved ones.

Ann is survived by her 4 children, Claire Bradford, John Denora (Gina), Connie Rising and Anne Pape. Her sister Lena Magliocco and brother Joseph "Sonny" Partenope, brother-in law Frank Denora (Margaret). 13 grandchildren, Melissa Comito (Vinny), AnnRenee Carlisle (Ray), Jaclyn Rinaldo (Jim), Joseph Denora (Kyle), Vincent Pape (Sara), John Denora (Christina), Krystin Pape, Nicholas DiTerlizzi, Joanna Pape, Robert DiTerlizzi, Joseph Palone (Taryn), Jesse Palone (Samantha) and Vincent Palone, 21 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

 Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, May 14th 2-4 pm, 7-9 pm at Matthew Funeral Home 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10314. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am at Church of Our Lady of Pity, 1616 Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10314. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 361 Sharrott Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10309.
