Obituary of Shaun Woodbury

Shaun Woodbury, age 42, passed away May 20, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born February 28 1983, in Newton, NJ, a son of the late Ward Woodbury and Susan Woodbury.

He was preceded in death by his father Ward and grandparents, Stanley Laurich, Margaret Laurich, and Velma Peck. He is survived by his mother Susan; brother Greg Woodbury and wife Gina Woodbury; nephews Connor, Lucas, and Andrew Woodbury; and sister Kristen Valletta and husband Christopher Valletta. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Shaun was raised in Hardyston, NJ and participated in a variety of sports during his childhood and teenage years. He graduated from Wallkill Valley Regional High School in 2001. He was a proud Certified Journeyman of Local Union 1556, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He relocated to Staten Island, NY in 2024. His hobbies included playing golf and playing the guitar. He was an avid fan of the New York Rangers and the Wu-Tang Clan. Shaun was a charming and easy-going man.

A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 to 6:00, Sunday, 05/25/2025, at Matthew Funeral Home 2508 Victory Blvd Staten Island, NY 10314. Family and friends are welcome to attend and remember Shaun.
