...my "Earthly Mom"...the name she gave herself, after my mother died in 1993...but she became even more... she became my Best Friend too...I met my best friend in 1985 when I started working at PS 60 as a Special Ed teacher....She was a School Aide ...named "Mama Scag"...and worked there since the school opened, she would say... a Mom to all the children and to all the Staff there, ...she was appreciated and loved by all the Principals she worked for thru the years...Gloria was a friend to so many teachers at P60, listening, caring, giving her wisdom, consoling us, and praying for us thru the years...no one was a better confidant...Gloria was an amazing Mom, to her wonderful daughters, son-in laws, grandsons and their wives, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, godchildren...they all called her "Mia"... "Mia Gloria"...their matriarch...all were/are so treasured and loved by her...there for each of them in so many ways, all the time...she raised the greatest family !!!...she told lovely stories about each of them, all the time as she did, about all her friends, too)...We shared all the stories of our lives together...and I learned all about her family history and the details of her Italian upbringing and life...we would talk for hours and hours about each of the people she loved, and about this wonderful family...which I am honored to be part of...each of them are so special, just like her !....Gloria was there for me, in every way, as she was for all of you...I could write all day, about her qualities...loving, thoughtful, caring, helpful, so wise, devout Catholic,...the best person you could ever want to know...how lucky each of us was, to have her in our lives !!!!!...what will we do without her?...Sincerely, Mary Ann Sonnergren...her "4th daughter" as she called me

You were her fourth daughter, and my adopted sister. My mother cherished you, and loved you with all her heart. Having such a wonderful and kind person in her life was a gift. Love you, sister.
