Obituary of Josephine Giliberti

In Loving Memory of Josephine Giliberti

April 26, 1948 – June 22, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Josephine Giliberti,

who departed this life peacefully and surrounded by love on June 22, 2025, at the age of 77.

Josephine was a beacon of strength, compassion, and quiet grace. Her gentle spirit and warm

heart touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Whether offering a

comforting word, a helping hand, or simply listening with understanding and kindness, Josephine

had a remarkable ability to make others feel truly seen, heard, and loved.

Born on April 26, 1948, in Rosolini, Sicily, Josephine was the cherished daughter of the late

Costantino and Vincenza Lanza. From an early age, she embodied the values that would guide

her life—faith, family, and selfless devotion. She was the heart of our family, always reminding

us of the importance of unity, love, and tradition.

Josephine found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was passionate about cooking, baking,

gardening, and shopping, and she gave freely of her time and energy to the church and to those in

need. She lived each day with purpose, generosity, and unwavering faith.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are comforted by the enduring legacy Josephine

leaves behind—one of kindness, resilience, and unconditional love. Her memory will live on in

the lives she touched and the values she instilled in us all.

Josephine was the devoted wife of Arcangelo Giliberti, and a loving stepmother to Anthony

Giliberti and Maryrose Giliberti, and Jerry Giliberti and Anna Giliberti. She was a proud and

adoring grandmother to Anthony, Dina, Leana, and Matteo.

She was also the beloved sister of Enrico Lanza and Joanne Taranto, and also late Salvatore

Lanza. Josephine is survived by their spouses, her many nieces and nephews, and a wide circle

of friends and extended family who will forever cherish her memory.
