Obituary of Margaret Mary O'Connor

The family of Margaret O'Connor, of Staten Island, is saddened to announce Margaret passed away peacefully, on June 23, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Margaret, of Westerleigh, was born in 1966 to Mary and Danny O'Connor. She was the dearest sister to Kevin O'Connor and his wife Beth, Maureen Barranco and her husband Vincent, Kathy McGuigan and her husband Kevin, and the late Thomas O'Connor. She was the proud and loving aunt to Anthony, Danny, Ellen, Jack, Kerry, Kevin, Meaghan, Nicholas, Patrick, and Thomas. Cherished niece to Margaret Heath and many loving cousins. Margaret brought joy, laughter and love into our lives and we will miss her dearly. Margaret attended Blessed Sacrament, Port Richmond, and St. John's. After finishing her education, she started work at Cahill Gordon & Reindel. For over 40 years, she worked with colleagues that she considered to be her friends and family. Margaret enjoyed her vacations at the Jersey Shore and Pocono Mountains. She loved watching her favorite team, the New York Yankees. As an avid reader, Margaret always with a book in hand and a cup of tea in the other. The family would like to thank all her friends for sharing their tears, condolences, and sympathies with us. We know Margaret cherished your friendships. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10314. A private family burial will follow.
