Obituary of Joseph T. Aloi

 

Joseph T. Aloi, 87, of Dongan Hills, passed away on June 24, 2025.  He was the beloved husband of the late Marie (2000); loving father of Jodimarie Kazdan; beloved father-in-law of Alex; cherished grandfather of Alexander, Lorenzo, Stephanie and Antoinetta Kazdan.  He also is survived by two future granddaughters-in-law – Katie and Laura.  Joseph was the dear brother of Frank Aloi, and the late Charles Aloi. He was also predeceased by his sisters-in-law – Angela Porsello, Victoria and Phyllis Aloi, brothers-in-law - Nicholas and Frank Russo.  Joseph was also survived by his sisters-in-law - Rae Tucci and Stacey Russo, and brothers-in-law - Lenny Porsello and James Tucci. Additionally, he is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Mr. Aloi was born and raised in Dongan Hills, Staten Island.  He graduated from McKee High School and proudly served in the United States Army from 1962-1964.  He was employed for over 20 years with the New York Shipping Association, retiring in the early 1990’s.  After retirement, he stayed active and worked at the Richmond County Country Club and worked as a Sous Chef for the former Swedish Home for the Aged.  Joseph also drove buses for Pioneer Bus Company.  Some of his hobbies included cooking and baking, and enjoying the outdoor sun, especially at the beach.  Most of all he enjoyed travelling and spending time with his family.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, 7/1, departing at 9:15 AM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church at 10:00 AM.  Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.  Family and friends may visit on Monday, 6/30, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
