Obituary of Mary D. Menichella

Mary D. Menichella, 96, of Sunset Hill, passed away on June 25, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Dominic Menichella; loving mother of Diane Menichella Stathopoulos, Dr. Michele Menichella Vikse and Joan Menichella Breen; cherished grandmother of Stefanie Espinosa, Erika DiMaso, Kevin Vikse, Dominic Breen, Thomas Breen, Edward Breen and great grandmother of six. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Diane Kefalinos and sister of the late Evelyn Kefalinos, Katie Gounaris and Ted Kefalinos. Mary was born and raised on a Staten Island farm. She graduated with honors from Port Richmond High School and Hunter College. She met the love of her life on the Brooklyn ferry. They were happily married for 60 years working side by side in his chiropractic office for over 30 years. Mary was a gracious hostess, and all were welcome at her table. She will be greatly missed. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. on Tuesday, 7/1/2025, departing at 10:30 AM. Funeral Service will be held in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Sunday, 6/29/2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Monday, 6/30/2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
