Obituary of Carol E. Falanga

Carol Falanga, 73, of Todt Hill, passed away on July 9, 2025. She was the beloved mother of Joy Colantone and her husband Anthony Colantone. She was a cherished Nana to Anthony, Dylan & Avery Colantone; and loving sister to Cathy Rail & Nancy Gorman. She is survived by many friends & cousins who she loved deeply.

Carol was born and raised in Prospect Park Brooklyn, NY, and graduated from All Saints High School, Brooklyn. She went on to work for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and was a compliance officer for many years. She survived two terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and retired after escaping Tower 2 on September 11. She was an excellent painter who painted numerous pictures for her family and loved to play cards with her grandchildren. In her spare time, she never missed watching a New York Yankees' game. Carol was the best mother and grandmother anyone could ask for. As a proud cheerleader to her grandchildren, she lived every day for them.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, July 12TH departing at 10:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity RC Church at 10:30 AM. Family and friends may visit on Friday, July 11th 2:00 to 5:00 PM & 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
