Obituary of Ishina C. Hall
Ishina Camille Hall, 54 passed away on July 23,2025, in Staten Island, New York. Her passing has left a profound void in the hearts of all those who knew her.
Born on March 4, 1971, in Oakland, California, Ishina spent her early childhood years in Oakland and Stockton, California. She had the benefit of being raised by her two families in those two cities.
Ishina began her educational journey in Stockton. She completed her early childhood education at McKinley Elementary School and junior high school at the Commodore Stockton Skills School. After completing junior high school, she moved across country to Staten Island, New York where she attended and graduated from Curtis High School. With a deep commitment to helping others, Ishina pursued the study of Social Welfare until her academic path was interrupted by a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis.
Throughout her professional career, Ishina dedicated her life to serving her community. She worked at the Seamen’s Society for Children and Families and later at Staten Island Savings Bank. Her work reflected her compassionate spirit and desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
Ishina is survived by her beloved sons, Marcus and Micah Ashman, her devoted spouse, William St. Elmo Ashman; her loving parents, Evelyn Hall-Wagner and Tyrone Hall; her sister, Dhubaida Muhammad and brother, Lawrence Wagner. She was the cherished granddaughter of Blanche and Lawrence Butler and Dorothy and Edward Hall. Ishina also leaves behind her dear aunts, Patsy Pressley, La Rue Brathwaite and Ramona Hall; uncles George Pressley, Tyrone Brathwaite, Alan Hall and Ronald Hall, and a host of caring cousins who will miss her deeply.
Known for her spirited nature and infectious sense of humor, she was also a loving mother, daughter, cousin, and companion who treasured time spent with friends and family. Her warmth and love for conversation made every interaction memorable.
