David, along with my cousin Ralph were like older brothers to me. Like all older brothers they took it upon themselves to toughen me up for manhood by pummeling me to the floor while tag-teaming me and being totally ignored by our mothers. There was no reprieve.
David brightened up every family gathering as he was always the funniest guy in the room. For that, I will miss him dearly.
Best of love to Gloria and the boys.

Dear Sis, David and Jimmy,
My sincere sympathies on this heartbreaking loss for us all. David was a sensitive, soft spoken, quiet and considerate human being. In other words, would never hurt a fly!
One of my favorite memories was when I lived with A Aida and David for a month, while my Mom and James were in Germany.
A Aida promised to take us to Rockefeller Center ice skating if we finished our homework. Of course being younger and very enthusiastic,I nagged him incessantly to hurry, so we could begin our long trip to the City. It was a Saturday during the Christmas season, and I remember it was magical. We laughed, and held hands trying not to constantly fall down. I felt we formed a strong bond that month, he was like my older brother, so sweet, gentle and caring. A Aida greeted us with hot chocolate, the ending to a perfect day!
We spent most of our childhood together, celebrating birthdays, and holidays at my Mom's, or U Bill's house. I was outnumbered with a brother, and 4 other unruly cousins, as we crowded around the lively kitchen table. We were surrounded by lots of love, food and yes...a constant state of commotion! We lost touch after I moved to Tucson however, our happy memories will always remain in our hearts.
David, I know you're at peace with your loving Mom and Dad now. PLEASE...save some cream puffs for me!
RIP my dear Cuz..I love you always.
XOXO Ro

In honor of my "CUZ"...may he rest in peace. Hopefully he will rejoin with his mom, my Aunt Aida, and dad, Jimmy O'Connor who I remember from my youth.
David was a good soul. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He liked good jokes and had some good ones too. He was brought up by my Aunt mostly and it was not easy for her. Jimmy passed in California while David was very young.
They stayed with us when they would visit from Pomona. David and me got along great and stayed close through our teen years. He introduced me to George Bauerle and the Bauerle family and there was none better. He did great marrying Sis. A chip off their mothers' block.
I will remember all the times we had together and especially when I saw him most when being young. Nothing but good times and laughs. Our family called David, our cousin Rosemany now in Tucson, and me the "Three Musketeers". When Rosemary danced on the old kids TV show, the Merry Mailman, David went and was interviewed by The Merry Mailman. The whole family gathered at my Godmother Phyllis's to watch. I asked him for his autograph when I saw him next.
I was proud and honored to be the Best Man (in title only) at his wedding. We had the reception out at a place on the South Shore by the bay. I remember saying, "You will have a great marriage if you treat each other as equals." That is something I knew David in his heart would always do with Sis...Gloria that is.
And they got two great kids from their marriage to boot!
SO RIP Cuz....love you always.
