Obituary of David James O'Connor

David O'Connor 76 years old passed on August 20th 2025 in Staten Island New York. Born David James O'Connor on June 10th 1949 in Los Angeles to James and Aida O'Connor. David lived with his parents in California till the passing of his father when he was four years old. Aida and David then moved to Staten Island New York. After graduating from Curtis High School he then went to barber school where he obtained his license to cut hair. David rented a chair at a barber shop on Forest Avenue in West Brighton. After a few years there he finally opened his own his shop in Rosebank on Tompkins Avenue. After being a barber for 40 plus years he finally retired, but still cut the hair of family and friends from time to time. In the years since retirement he enjoyed watching the Yankees, Knicks and Giants often going to Yankees games with his wife and sons.

David was also a huge music fan, he loved the Beatles, The Who, Cream and Jimi Hendrix.

David loved being around family and friends including all his brother and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews and also all his cousins. David was often the life of the party telling jokes and teasing some of his favorite people. David is survived by his wife of 50 years Gloria and his two sons David and James. David was loved and cherished by everyone he met, he will be terribly missed by all who knew him.
