Anthony lit up the room. Every student I saw in Comp Sci heard he was a great professor and helped them learn the skills they needed to move ahead in an already high level of math he taught. He was so down to earth. A warm, kind, amazing soul. Miss him and think of him even from across the country.

Anthony was the best boyfriend I had! His brilliance was quite impressive coupled with his down to earth nature made him an amazing Professor of mathematics.
Conte may have left us early yet his passion for life aloud him to live a full life!
He also taught me math and how to play Pool properly!
He will be sorely missed.
I am very sorry for our loss. Godspeed, Nora Dattilo

I just learned of the passing of my fondly remembered colleague, Anthony Conte, who was a strong and vibrant presence in the math department at the College of Staten Island. Behind the friendly, unassuming manner he always carried was an impressively accomplished and learned educator.
I once had the pleasure of sitting in on one of Anthony’s calculus classes as part of the professional observation process. In front of the class, he projected the same easygoing openness as he did with his friends and colleagues. He assumed this welcoming presence without any compromise to the eloquence and sophistication of his formal presentations to the class. Anthony’s conversational manner of teaching established a communicative rapport with the class, one that engaged and drew in the attention of the students like I have rarely if ever seen before or since.
Humor was an indispensable part of Anthony’s teaching style. What left an enduring impression was the way he directed his humor into the very material he was presenting. As he shared his insights into the concepts at hand, his lighthearted asides brought a human dimension to the topic, which further engaged the attention of the students. That talent alone confirmed my impressions of him being outstanding educator.
Duly impressed, I gave Anthony the highest praises in my written report. My respect for him had multiplied tenfold after that observation. The students he taught were very lucky to have him as their teacher. As both a colleague and a friend, I shall miss him dearly.

Riding the Cyclone in Coney Island five times in a row until the guy kicks us off. Good thing for you cause you would have sickened first. Yes we were good decision makers. Plugged into youthful exuberance I will always cherish your illuminated mind. Keep feeling fascination.
