WOW... I am at loss for words. I just found out. Thomas and I had a special bond over Legos. We were both always going around about if our wives really knew our lego addiction... LOL. Met Thomas in Houston at the UFC Fanfest, where he was promoting the First UFC Encyclopedia. We bought a copy, and had him sign it!. That book now has over 200 autographs in it.
Tom, I will miss our joes about Lego and the UFC.... May you rest in peace.....

I only corresponded with Thomas briefly and spoke to him once when he interviewed me but he was such a lovely and kind man. Everyone I know in the boxing community says the same thing. I want his family to know he was loved and made a difference to so many people. God rest his soul.

It was truly an honor to know Thomas, a man whose life exemplified integrity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his craft and family. As we mourn this extraordinary man, we find comfort in Christ's promise: "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" (John 11:25 KJV), and are reminded that "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13 KJV). Thomas's lasting impact will continue through the lives he touched, and his legacy serves as a reminder to live with intention, love generously, and consider our eternal destiny in Christ.

First time I talked to Thomas, it was back in 1997 via internet forum of a sport which later would be called of MMA.
We had a great connection, and since then we talked a lot about fights, soccer and the our lives.
It's still very hard to express how I deal with his loss. Thomas was a real brother from another mother.
love you forever brother. God bless

I'm without words. I've read the tributes and the theme is the same. Such a unique human, capable of telling it straight without offending anyone. Everyone enjoyed a conversation or a text message from him and knew there'd be a chuckle or hefty laugh to follow. I certainly wish there was more time. I'm so sorry you're no longer here to shed your wonderful light on the world that needs it right now.

57 is too soon. I can't say Tom & I were close but I believe we were friends all the same. I met Tom when I wrote for UFC.com. Despite being my boss and already being a legend in the field, he treated me like a colleague -a testament to his character. Tom was generous, kind & brilliant. Some people just make the world a better place. I'm only now fully realizing that Tom was one of those people. Someone who was never too busy to be kind -even if he was too busy. Now I can't reach out for advice or just say 'Hey bud! How's it going?' knowing he'd reply with warmth and humor.
Thank you, Tom, for everything. When I would refer to you as "The Great Tom Gerbasi" on social media it may've been with a wink & a nod but I also absolutely meant it.
Deepest condolences to the family. If I feel Tom's loss this much, I can only imagine what you're going through. His love for you all was obvious. I hope my words offer some comfort.

I am saddened by your sudden passing. You were a treasured colleague and fellow traveller when it came to our strong support for women in boxing. You were an inspiration to generations of writers - and I will be forever grateful to you for coining my book “the bible of Women’s Boxing.” We'd just spoken at length this past Monday about your decision to pen a new book on the sport, which makes it all the more shocking.
Your absence will be deeply felt. For those of us on the Ring women's rating panel and in the wider boxing community, your integrity and unwavering sense of purpose inspired us all. We mourn your loss and honor your legacy.
I send my love and support to Sonia and his incredible family.
May your memory be for a blessing.

In life you didn’t want anyone to make a fuss over you , but you leaving has had the biggest impact on the sport. Life won’t be the same without you in it. I will miss our conversation about our grand babies. And hearing the truth about boxings finest. You sir have touched my life and I will never forget you. I promise I will check in on your family but I know you will be watching over them. Go rest now my friend. Your job here is done.
