Obituary of Brianna L. Sison
Brianna L. Sison, 25, of Staten Island, passed away on October 10, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on July 19, 2000, in Los Angeles, California. Known to all as Bri, she attended St. Christopher’s School as a child and later graduated with honors from the College of Staten Island High School for International Studies in 2018.
At the age of 16, Brianna began volunteering with Volunteer Heart Ambulance and went on to train as an Emergency Medical Technician during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her passion for emergency medical services grew, leading her to work with Northwell Health’s Staten Island University Hospital EMS and Richmond University Medical Center EMS. In 2024, she was honored with the EMT of the Year Award by the Staten Island Borough President’s Office for her dedication and service with Northwell Health EMS.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Brianna was a radiant light whose warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She lived her life with an infectious joy that brightened even the darkest days, finding beauty and laughter in the simplest moments.
Brianna loved spending time surrounded by her many friends, sharing meals, going to concerts and movies, and filling every gathering with her signature laughter. She had a creative and curious spirit, often found reading, building Legos with intricate care, or making collages that reflected her vibrant imagination. A devoted Lilo & Stitch and Disney fan, she saw the world through a lens of love and loyalty, believing deeply in the power of ‘ohana.’
Her passions extended to cheering at Devil’s and baseball games, finding excitement and community in the energy of the crowd. Each of her tattoos told a story, small and meaningful testaments to the experiences and people that shaped her life.
Brianna is survived by her loving parents, Alma (Aimee) and Theodore (Todd), as well as countless friends, colleagues, and family members who will forever cherish her memory. Brianna’s laughter, kindness, and light will forever remain in the hearts of all who loved her. She reminded us, in every moment, to find joy, to love deeply, and to leave the world brighter than we found it.
Family and friends may visit the Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Thursday from 4-8 PM. A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 6 PM.
