Obituary of Beatrix B. Johnstone

Beatrix Johnstone (nee Turi), passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of the late Ernest and the late Florence Turi; dear wife of Lewis Johnstone; devoted mother of Robert Aiello and the late Gregory Aiello; fond step-mother of Michele Frost (Ralph), Kevin Johnstone, Kelly Lockwood (Dan) and Lisa Johnstone; cherished niece of Armando (Arnie) Turi and loving sister of Walda Sorge (Nee Turi) (Thomas), and the late Harvey Magid (Ann). Beatrix is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Johnstone was a graduate of Fordham University (BS) and The College of Staten Island (MS). She retired as a Deputy Superintendent of the New York City Board of Education, District 2 in August of 2002, after 36 years of service. She was the recipient of many professional and administrative certificates. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 28105, St. Adalbert and St. Roch R.C. Church (602 Port Richmond Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10302), or St. Vincent of Paul R.C. Church (PO Box 288, Cape Vincent, NY 13618 – Reverend Raymond Diesbourg, Pastor). Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Boulevard, 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, 10/25, departing at 9:15 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Adalbert's R.C. Church (337 Morningstar Road, Staten Island, NY 10303). Entombment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park Cemetery (1800 NJ-27, North Brunswick Township, NJ 08902). Visitation at the Funeral Home on Friday, 10/24, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.
