Obituary of Rosetta G. Bunch
On Saturday October 18, 2025, Rosetta G. Bunch was called home by the Lord. As a devout Catholic and a woman who loved the Lord, she embodied what it truly meant and lived by, love others as you want to be loved. She was a mother figure to so many.
Rosetta was the bride of the Late Louis M Bunch. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Louis E. & Cynthis Bunch, Brian W. & Nellie Bunch, Darryl M. & Nadia Bunch and her daughter Jorgina Bunch-Russo. Her eldest daughter Alvine Bunch-Reed passed in 1996.
Rosetta was the daughter of the late Alvin & Mahalia Williams. She is also survived by her brother Irving Williams and her sister Maryann Casey. She is predeceased by her siblings Eugene Williams, Robert Williams and Marie McCombs.
Rosetta began working for the Board of education at Port Richmond High School in 1970. In 1971 a race riot broke out at the school and instead of locking down she and one other teacher went outside into the middle of the melee and broke things up. The principal wrote a letter to the mayor, and she received a beautiful letter, thanking her for keeping the school safe. They offered her the job as security officer, gave her a wind-breaker jacket and a walkie-talkie and Eagle One was born!
Rosetta patrolled the halls for 10 years and was promoted in 1981 to Head of Security Task Force in Manhattan! She retired in 1996 as Administrator of Security.
An avid reader, she loved traveling, painting, rock climbing and swimming, which were just a few of the things she loved to do. She always said don't let anyone convince you that you can't do anything! And the sky was the limit! But she reached for the stars!
She loved to travel with her "Hun" and best friends the Late Dr. Vincent & Natalie Fisher. They did so much together. From the times in the house upstate to the vacations in Disney World. So many adventures! The four of them would have a great time wherever they went! Mom considered the Fisher siblings her other children. Kevin & Donna Fisher, Barbara & John Coughlin, Maureen Fisher, Theresa Fisher & Gordon Van Huizen, Clairemarie & Kevin O'Leary and Brian & Di Fisher.
In lieu of flowers please donate to Our Lady of Mt, Carmel Benedicta/St. Mary of the Assumption the name of Rosetta G. Bunch.
