Obituary of Ermelinda Perez
Ermelinda Perez was born on July 3, 1931, in Guánica, Puerto Rico. At the age of 14, she moved to New York City with her family. On May 15, 1952, she married her late husband, Manuel Perez. Together, they had three children: Mary, Manuel, and Judi.
After Manuel’s tragic passing in 1966, Ermelinda and her children moved to Staten Island. As a widowed mother, she worked tirelessly in her retail career to support and raise her family.
Ermelinda enjoyed music—especially Elvis Presley—watching her favorite Spanish novelas, playing games, and cooking delicious meals for her loved ones. She was a proud and devoted grandmother (Abuela) to six—Steven, Matthew, Ariel, Gregory, Julia, and Jenna—and a loving great-grandmother (Bisabuela) to four—Savannah, Steven, Salvatore, and Leah.
Ermelinda will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and deep love for her family.
