Obituary of Elaine Goffredo

Elaine Margaret Goffredo (née Rubio) passed away at home on November 9, 2025, after a prolonged illness. She was 67 years old. Elaine was a beloved daughter, wife of 50 years, mother, grandmother, and friend. She touched the lives of many with her profound kindness, warmth, faith, and immense strength. Elaine was joyous, funny, and resilient, and never lost her faith, despite the challenges of her illness. She was deeply patriotic and devoted to her family, God, and Country. She possessed an iron will, quick wit, and an empathetic heart. She had the gift of making everyone she met feel loved like family.

Elaine graduated from Port Richmond High School in 1976 and became a nurse, serving at Staten Island University Hospital for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Domenick Goffredo; four children, Christine Zapata, Jessica Englehart, Dominic Goffredo, and Daniel Goffredo; their spouses; 20 grandchildren; her brother Rocky Rubio; and a large, loved extended family.

Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Dominic and Carol (Huffman) Rubio; her sister, Denise Higgins; her brother, Louis Rubio; and her beloved grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Matthew Funeral Home. A Catholic funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on November 12, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church.
