Obituary of Susan Thorsen

Susan Thorsen, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, passed away on November 10, 2025, surrounded by love and family. She touched many lives with her kind and caring nature, sense of humor and funny expressions. Susan was born and raised until her teenage years in South Beach, Staten Island. Susan was the daughter of Rose and John Carletti and the sister of three brothers John, Louis, and Arthur. At the age of 14, she moved with her family to Rosebank, where she lived until her marriage to Donald Thorsen on October 19, 1963. She lived a fulfilling life as a stay-at-home mom in Eltingville until her passing. Susan enjoyed making costumes for her daughters for Halloween, being a class mom, going on school trips, and bowling with her friends. Her greatest joy, most of all, was being with her four grandchildren, Amanda, Eric, Emily, and Dylan. Susan was preceded in death by her mother Rose, her father John and brothers John and Louis. She is survived by her Husband Donald, her brother Arthur and her daughters Susan and Donna. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, 11/12/2025 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
