Obituary of Catherine E. La Barca

Catherine "Honey" La Barca (nee Damiani) passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, after a long illness. She was the loving mother of Denice and Robert Zito, Ted La Barca, Dean and Dee La Barca, and Ken and Diane La Barca; cherished grandmother of Joe and Lisa Fraschilla, Ted La Barca, Francesca Zito, Dean and Erica La Barca, Alexandra La Barca and Christina La Barca; devoted great-grandmother of Teddy La Barca, Penelope and Sal Fraschilla; dear sister of "Sonny" Damiani. Ms. La Barca worked for and retired from the New York City Board of Education as a School Lunch Supervisor. She loved spending time with her family and loved cooking for them and hosting the holidays. Flowers or donations to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated by the family in Catherine's memory. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday, departing at 10 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family R.C. Church at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
