Loving mother of daughter Lauren Imperato (DeJulio) and son Douglas DeJulio. Beloved Nanny to her two grandchildren, Madison and Louis Imperato. Eleanor is also survived by her sister Joan Ulino along with many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. Eleanor DeJulio (m:Azzinaro) was born in Brooklyn, New York, where she grew up and graduated from James Madison High School. She went on to study art education at New Paltz College in New York, where she received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She went on to earn her master’s degree and thirty above from Wagner College, Staten Island, New York.

Her career started in Long Island, New York, in art education. After putting her career on hold to raise a family, she went back to teaching for the City Board of Education. She was a substitute teacher at PS 36, then became fully appointed as a kindergarten teacher at PS 53 in Bay Terrace.  She loved her career, and her career loved her back, until she retired in 2003. After which she would then go on to volunteer at Holy Child preschool, as well as Holy Child school of religion. She enjoyed gardening and was a longtime member of the Staten Island Garden Club. Some of her other passions were traveling, museums and Broadway shows. She took the greatest pleasure in scrapbooking and loved creating and putting all the memories into scrapbooks, especially for her grandchildren, She loved being with her friends, going walking, shopping, and was always there to listen to someone who needed it. She was independent, funny, strong-willed, and extremely generous. She will be missed by many.
