In high school whenever I called Chris’s house, and Edgar answered, he asked who was calling. I would say, Eggman you know who this is it’s Steve. Without fail, he would ask Steve who? Then I would say Steve Adorno, then, also without fail, he would say “ Steve I don’t know?” How do you not know your last name? Well I don’t know if I can put you through to my son without knowing who was on the phone. He was always joking and always willing to listen.

Sincere condolences to Cathy, Chris and the whole family The obituary was so accurate, he was all that and more. We were neighbors of the Ortiz family for 15 years and Edgar was always friendly, kind and ready to help no matter what. He will be surely missed. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

We remain so deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Edgar. It still doesn’t feel real, and it’s almost impossible to make sense of losing someone so loved, so quickly, and without warning. The shock has stayed with us, and the sorrow runs deep. Edgar wasn’t just a friend—he was family to us. His warmth, his presence, and the way he cared for others will stay in our hearts forever. We are holding the entire Ortiz family close in our prayers, especially his beloved wife, Cathy, his son, Christopher, his beautiful grandchildren, and his loving siblings, especially our brother, Elliot as they face this unimaginable loss. My beloved brother Edgar and I called each other every morning. We had such wonderful times remembering funny phrases our mother would say. But, I will never forget the time Edgar mentioned that he was having a conversation with someone and he asked the person, "How can you not believe there is a God?" I know Edgar walked with God in his heart. Therefore, I know I will see him again.
