Obituary of Robert Raisley, Sr.

Robert "Bob" Raisley Sr., a cherished soul and a beacon of joy, completed his earthly journey on November 20, 2025, at the age of 87, in Somerset, New Jersey. Born on April 1, 1938, in Staten Island, New York, to a loving family, Bob's life was characterized by his unwavering faith, his dedication to his family, and his service to his country and community.

Bob was a proud graduate of Curtis High School, where the foundation of his lifelong friendships and values was built. Following his graduation, he answered the call to serve in the United States Army, where he exhibited the same commitment and integrity that would become the hallmarks of his life. After his honorable discharge, Bob embarked on a career as a Foreman for General Electric, Paeco Industries and Eagle Rubber. He then transitioned to a car salesman for 25 years at Staten Island Nissan. There, his infectious smile earned him the affectionate nickname "Smiling Bob," a moniker that reflected not just his professional demeanor but also his approach to life.

Bob lived his faith through his actions and his love for his family. He was a devoted husband to Beverly A. Raisley (nee Granito), with whom he shared a blessed union of 62 years filled with mutual respect and adoration. Together, they navigated the joys and challenges of life, their bond a testament to the power of love and commitment.

They welcomed 2 children, Robert Raisley Jr. (deceased) and Linda G. Raisley to whom he adored.

Bob's interests were as varied as they were joyful. An avid fisherman, he found peace and solace in the quiet moments by the water, patiently awaiting the day's catch. His love for gambling was matched only by his love for playing cards, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and gentle competition of the game. A man of rhythm and grace, Bob was also known for his dancing, often the first to lead Beverly onto the dance floor, moving to the music with effortless ease.

He was a shining example of strength,  perseverance and tenacity and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.

As we bid farewell to Robert Raisley Sr., we do so with heavy hearts, but also with the knowledge that his legacy of kindness, service, and love will endure. His was a life well-lived, full of moments that touched the hearts of many, and his spirit will remain a guiding light for all who were blessed to know him. Though he has left this world, the memories of his bright smile and generous heart will forever be cherished. Rest in peace, dear Bob, until we meet again in the glory of God's kingdom.
