Obituary of Anthony J. Bellantoni

Anthony Bellantoni June 9, 1948 – November 21, 2025 Anthony Bellantoni, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Born on June 9, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, Anthony carried the spirit of his hometown with him throughout his life—warm, determined, generous, and always ready with a meal. Anthony was the devoted husband of Frances Dorothy Bellantoni, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership. Together they raised two children, Richard Bellantoni and Kim Bellantoni-Martinez, who were the pride of his life. He welcomed his son-in-law John Martinez as his own and found immense joy in being "Grandpa" to Nicholas and Matthew Martinez, who brought endless light to his days. Anthony proudly served 28 years as a train operator with the New York City Transit Authority, a career that reflected his tireless work ethic and unwavering commitment to keeping the city moving. To Anthony, faith, family, and food were the cornerstones of a life well lived. He could often be found in the kitchen perfecting his famous riceballs or savoring his favorite dishes—chicken parmesan or Chinese food. Meals at his table were filled with love, and the unmistakable feeling of home. He is also survived by his loving brother Richard Bellantoni and sister Patricia Bellantoni as well as many cherished family members whose lives he touched deeply. Anthony will be remembered for his warmth, his generosity, his steadfast devotion to those he loved, and the countless memories he created along the way. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, 11/24, departing at 10:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, 11/23, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
