Obituary of Valli Faherty

Valli Faherty passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025.

Valli was born in Cavasso Nuovo, Italy to Arcadio and Madelena Bian Rosa.

Her family (brother Jack and sister Norina) immigrated to the US and settled in Manhattan. She graduated from Washington Irving HS and then went on to work at Honeywell, where she met her husband John Faherty.

They came to Staten Island in the early 60’s and raised their 3 children. She worked at Victory Gourmet Deli for years. She loved bingo, Atlantic City, traveling the world, cleaning and spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her children Barbara Portnoy, Michael Faherty and Terence Faherty, as well as, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grand children.

“We love you Momma! You were the best Mom ever.” 

Visitation at Matthew Funeral Home 2508 Victory Blvd on Sunday, November 30 2-4 and 7-9. Mass will be held on Monday, December 1 at 11:00am at Holy Family Church, 366 Watchogue Road.   Burial to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
