Obituary of Dennis A. O'Brien
Dennis A. O’Brien, a native Staten Islander and graduate of Port Richmond High School, passed away after a seven-year battle with Cancer. He had a strong and courageous battle to live but was overcome by this horrible disease.
Dennis is predeceased by his parents, Thomas O’Brien and Betty Susalis, his stepfather, Angelo Susalis, sister, Jeanne Ehrlich. His surviving siblings are Thomas and Billy O’Brien, and sister Kathy Fodera.
Born with a passion for riding and repairing motorcycles, he could always be found in the garage. His knack for buying and restoring bikes was his hobby. There was always a motorcycle in the garage. He always had the garage door open talking to anyone who passed by, sometimes doing more talking than working. Motorcycles were his first love until he became a husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He would always take the time to be a part of their lives. He loved being in the pool or down the Jersey Shore with the family.
He was always willing to lend a hand to any friend, neighbor or family member.
Dennis was a Supervisor for the New York City Transit Authority, retiring in 2017, after 28 years of service.
He leaves behind his wife Jackie of 39 years. He also leaves behind his daughters Ashley (Gerard), and Erin, his granddaughters Mackenzie, Bianca and Madison.
“Dennis your absence leaves a void that words cannot fill, but your love and spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Rest in Peace Love!”
