Obituary of William DiScalo

William “Bill” Di Scalo, 75, of Staten Island, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born on February 23, 1950, in Brooklyn, Bill grew up with a strong work ethic, a deep loyalty to those he loved, and a warm sense of humor that stayed with him throughout his life.

On April 18, 1973, Bill married the love of his life, Elizabeth, beginning a partnership built on devotion, resilience, and family. After the birth of their son, Christopher, Bill and Elizabeth moved to Staten Island, where they built a home filled with laughter and countless memories. They later welcomed their daughter, Stephanie, completing their family.

Bill was a proud father and grandfather. Christopher and his wife, Maryanne, blessed him with three cherished grandchildren—Kate, Christopher, and Charlotte—who brought him endless joy. Bill was also excited to watch Stephanie begin the next chapter of her life with her fiancée, Rufina.

Bill worked for many years at Scara-Mix Cement Inc., where he was known for his dedication and reliability. He retired at age 62, giving him the opportunity to enjoy more time with the people he loved. In his younger years, Bill had a passion for riding his motorcycle, bowling and throughout his life he treasured family vacations and time spent together.

Bill is predeceased by his brothers Anthony DiScalo, John Maglione, and Annamaria Illardo Abouserewa. He is survived by his devoted wife Elizabeth; his children Christopher (Maryanne) and Stephanie (Rufina); and his cherished grandchildren Kate, Christopher, and Charlotte. He is also survived by his brothers Joseph Illardo, George Illardo, and Sabatino Illardo, as well as many loving nieces, extended family members, and dear friends.

Bill will be remembered for his kindness, his warm sense of humor, and his generous spirit. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, families may donate to St. Jude in William’s name.
