Obituary of Joseph E. Bruns

Joseph E. Bruns 90, of Staten Island N.Y., passed away on Monday December 11th, 2025. Joseph was born on December 14th, 1934, in Staten Island N.Y., The son of Robert Bruns and Francis Kiley. He was 1 of 13 children. He graduated St. Peter’s High School. He was a skilled contractor, respected by many. Joseph was a member of Holy Rosary Church where he attended mass regularly.

Joseph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He married Celia Menichella in 1955. Surviving are his 2 daughters Robin Ferragamo and Linda Simonetti; 5 granddaughters Robyn Petraglia, Alexandra Ferragamo, Kristi Cunzo, Jaclyn Simonetti, and Nicole Simonetti; and a greatgrandson Marco Petraglia. 

In his spare time, he loved doing puzzles, playing cards, and trips to the track and winners with his daughters and granddaughters. He was an avid fan of horse racing and loved trips to the track and in recent years winners in Bayonne. He will be missed greatly.
