Obituary of Emily "Lee" Kramer
Lifelong Staten Islander, Emily (Lee) Kramer 87, of Meiers Corners, a loving Mother , Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, died Sunday at The Villa at Westhampton NY.
Born in Port Richmond, she moved to Grasmere with her husband, the late Charles A. Kramer Jr. after their marriage in 1959.The couple settled in Meiers Corners in 1965.
After graduating from Port Richmond High School, Lee worked for American International Underwriters in NYC for five years. She retired to be a stay-at-home Mom.
As a child, she was an active member of All Saints Church SI, and later at St. Simon's Church where she was a lay reader, Sunday School teacher, and served on many committees. With the demise of St. Simon's Church, she recently returned to All Saint's Church.
She was past president of the Episcopal Church Woman (ECW). She served as a Girl Scout leader and was on several bowling leagues.
She loved boating and was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Great Kills Yacht Club when her husband, Charles was Commodore and Chaplain.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Miranda (Frank), Grandchildren Dr. Sheila Flaum (Tom LaSalvia), David Flaum (Dr. Pauline Flaum- Dunoyer), Nicholas Miranda (Liz), and Andrew Miranda.
Great Grandchildren, Patrick, Charlie, and Melanie La Salvia, Leo Miranda and a baby boy on the way !
Services will be Friday Dec 19 at 9 am at Matthew Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Ocean View Cemetery.
