Obituary of Jose R. Rodriguez

Beloved Jose Ramon Rodriguez passed away in the early afternoon of December 15th, 2025. He was born on August 21,1947 in San Juan on the "Isla del Encanto", Puerto Rico. He was one of six children, two boys and four girls. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Jose loved to work with his hands and pursued an occupation of superintendent/handyman. He was always busy painting, building, or fixing something. He was married to Sylvia Rodriguez for 41 blessed years. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. His children are as follows: Naomi and her husband Maurice, Joshua and his wife Dalilah, Maria, and Jessica. Jose also had the blessing of having two granddaughters (Tanisha, Destiny), five grandsons (Matteo, Levi, Joshua, Joseph, Malik) and two great granddaughters. Jose was a devoted born again Christian and loved Jesus Christ with all his heart. He was a part of an evangelistic ministry that traveled to different parts of the world and churches to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. His hobbies included camping, nature walks, fishing, bike riding, going to the beach with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching the good old black and white films as well as movies that made him laugh. He had a blessed talent in making his world-famous flan which was the main dessert at every holiday event and his family always looked forward to eating it. He was known for his Celia Cruz joke of her English not being so very good looking. He will be missed, loved, appreciated, and remembered. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, 12/22, departing at 10:45 AM. Funeral service will be held at Matthew Funeral Home at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, NJ. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, 12/21, from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM
