Obituary of Kimberly G. Potenza
Kimberly Mohlenhoff Potenza, 57, of Travis passed away unexpectantly on December 15. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Potenza, loving mother of John. She is survived by her mother, Diane Mohlenhoff, brother, Keith (Janet). She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kim started her career working with her mother at Hasson & Tobin law firm on Bay Street. This paved the way for her working for over 25 years at the Richmond County Public Administrator's office serving under multiple Public Administrators.
Outside of work hours Kim had many interests. She had unflappable patience and a famously dry sense of humor. She enjoyed watching British TV, especially murder mysteries and could always recommend something new to watch. In keeping with her British interests, a niece remembers her doing a fantastic Mick Jagger impression.
Her interest in gardening stemmed from the Mohlenhoff family heritage. She enjoyed get-togethers with "The Cousins," and always had a good story to tell. She practiced yoga and in direct contrast to the calm of yoga, enjoyed heavy metal music, particularly Motley Crue and Metallica. She will be greatly missed by all, especially at The Cousin's gatherings.
Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, 12/22, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A Funeral Service at the Funeral Home is scheduled for Tuesday, 12/23 at 10:00 AM, with interment to follow at Ocean View Cemetery.
