Obituary of Audrey T. Bruno
Our wonderful mother, Audrey Bruno, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025 at the age of 90.
She was our constant support and a source of comfort, happiness and unconditional love.
Audrey grew up in old Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. She was the first child born to Albert and Louise Piovano, along with two beloved younger sisters, Marie Yearwood and Alberta Sullivan.
She married Mario Bruno, our father, and together they built a home in Dyker Heights filled with love, good food, life lessons and laughter for their three sons, Frank, Mario and Michael. Audrey was a devoted and loving grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she loved all of her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children.
Audrey was gifted in art and fashion and studied at NY Fashion Institute of Technology. She used those gifts to help brighten the days of her children's younger years, making them costumes, toys and clothing, and inspiring them to indulge themselves in artistic pursuits.
She loved to cook and bake, to take long walks, to travel and most of all to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
Audrey's kindness extended beyond her family, and she was always lending a hand or listening ear to friends and neighbors and their children. People will remember her most for the gracious way she was able to communicate with everyone she met and warm their hearts.
We'll remember Audrey as the steady center of our family, whose wisdom, love and encouragement shaped who we are today.
On January 10, 2026 at 11 AM, a celebration of her life will be held at Tottenville Evangelical Free Church, 266 Wood Ave, Staten Island, NY 10307
