Obituary of Teresita Da Silva

Teresita “Tessie” Da Silva 73, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on January 4, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Enrique Navarrete; loving mother to Ricky Navarrete and his wife Krystal Navarrete, Christine Navarrete, Lee Navarrete, Teresa Pirez and her husband Jean Pirez,  Johnny Navarrete and his wife Jennifer Navarrete. Cherished grandmother better known as “Mama” to Jalen, Nas, Ciara, Brandon, Ryan, DJ, Justice, Gigi, Maddy, Jade and Penny. Sister to her adored siblings Ana, Joseph, David, Anthony, Elisabeth, Gilly, Claudio, Jenny, and Denise. She is also survived by many precious nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. 

It is impossible to describe Tessie in one paragraph. She was in short the life of the party. If there was a dance floor you could find her right in the middle, if there wasn’t a dance floor she would make one. She was always available for a good time whether it was a night of fun or a day on the beach she would be just be happy to be there with you. Some of her favorite memories was being at her mother’s house during the holidays surrounded by family listening to salsa and dancing with her sisters being looked on by her dearly missed mother Elsa. She was an independent, feisty, and sensitive woman with the biggest heart. As her daughter Christine said “She might not have had much, but she was willing to give you all that she had to those she loved”.
