Obituary of Nicolo Generoso

Nicky Generoso — a cherished son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, Grandson, nephew and friend — Passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Nicky was born on September 9, 1977, and was known for his warm heart, generous spirit, and deep devotion to those he loved. An excellent baker, Nicky found joy in creating beautiful loaves of bread, often sharing his talent while working alongside his family. Music was another one of his greatest passions — he loved singing and playing the guitar, filling rooms with warmth, laughter, and song. His happiest moments were always spent surrounded by the people he loved most. At 28 years old, Nicky became a father for the first time to his beloved son, Anthony Emanuele Generoso. Tragically, Anthony passed away at just three and a half years old from a rare cancer, neuroblastoma. The loss of his precious boy changed Nicky forever, leaving a place in his heart that could never be filled. Just seven months later, Nicky endured another heartbreaking loss when his father, Antonio Generoso, passed away. Despite the pain, Nicky continued to carry on with strength and love. He was later blessed with two more beautiful children — Michael Generoso (15) and Madalynne Generoso (12) — who became his pride and joy. Nicky adored being a father. He loved playing with his children, laughing with them, and simply being in their presence. His world revolved around them. In 2022, Nicky was diagnosed with lung disease. What followed was a difficult and exhausting journey filled with hope, setbacks, and unwavering determination. In 2025, plans were being made for a lung transplant as his condition progressed. However, due to a serious bacterial infection, doctors advised he would need to wait another year. Sadly, Nicky's body could not wait. He succumbed to lung failure and passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Nicky will be remembered for his kindness, his love of family, his beautiful voice, his guitar, and the light he brought into every room. His spirit lives on through his children, his family, and the countless lives he made brighter. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts. Funeral Departing the Matthew Funeral Home 2508 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY on Monday 1/12 at 9:15 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity Church at 9:45 am, interment to follow at Moravian Cemetery.
