Obituary of Nora Bocignone

Nora Ellen Bocignone (nee Budnick) age 72, passed away January 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Richard; loving mother of Anthony and devoted mother-in-law to Kristina; dear sister of Rita Milici and Edward Budnick and cherished aunt of 77 nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. 

Nora was born and raised in Tottenville before moving with her family to Westerleigh. She attended Tottenville High School and had various jobs before she met and married the love of her life, Richard Bocignone. Together, they had their son Anthony, who was her pride and joy. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary October 6, 2025.

She worked diligently as a secretary at Sacred Heart Church, Staten Island, for 16 years, retiring in 2015. Nora had deep faith and a strong devotion to God and the Blessed Mother, saying the rosary and praying daily for family, friends and neighbors. She loved and adored her family. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with them, creating cherished memories and sharing her excellent cooking. Very generous yet humble, she privately supported many charities.  

Nora was a blessing to all who loved and knew her. Kind, caring, loving, supportive, she was truly a good person, and the world was a much better place with her in it. She will be truly, deeply missed.
