Obituary of Rosemarie Kempisty

Rosemarie Kempisty, 84 passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at Carmel Richmond Nursing Home. Rosemarie courageously battled several challenges this year following major surgery in April. Rosemarie was born on July 13, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY to Vito and Marie Giordano and was the older sibling of two children.

Rosemarie shared a loving 35-year marriage to her beloved husband Stanley whom she wed on May 25, 1963. Ro and Stan started their journey in Brooklyn, and moved to Staten Island where she resided until her passing.

Rosemarie is survived by her brother John Giordano Sr. and sister-in-law Elizabeth; her children Lisa (Sean), Dawn (Vinny), Stephen (April); and her cherished grandchildren Sean Roy (Lauren), Vincent, James, Jessica,

Ryan (Jackie), and Michael.

Rosemarie was a dedicated homemaker who was very involved in her children’s school activities including the PTA board. She also enjoyed being involved and attending softball/baseball games at SHLL. After working “part-time” at the family

store, R&H Vacuum, Ro took over and ran the store by herself after Stanley’s passing.

Ro loved to bowl, was passionate about politics and world events, she enjoyed drinking coffee, solving word searches and completing puzzles. Getting away to the Pocono House was a welcome escape on weekends and vacations. Marathon shopping and Perkin’s pancakes were a requirement on all these trips. She loved all these things, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and extended family.

Rosemarie’s loving and unwavering commitment to her family and friends, passionate patriotic views, and encouraging spirit will be missed by all that knew her. She will always be deeply loved and remembered.

Family and friends may visit the Matthew Funeral Home 2508 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10314 on Thursday from 3-8 PM.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10 am.  Interment to follow at Oceanview Cemetery.
