Gaspare Medordi, 84, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, on Staten Island. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Gaspare was a quiet, steady presence whose life was defined by devotion to family, hard work, and simple joys. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Medordi (née Connelly) and a proud father to Julieann (Riccardo), Paul (Christine), and Vincent (Jennifer). Nothing brought Gaspare more happiness than his role as grandfather to Nicholas, James, Olivia, and Katherine, whom he adored. Gaspare dedicated many years of service to the MTA and the New York City Board of Education, earning the respect of those who worked alongside him through his reliability, humility, and strong work ethic. A man of few words but a big heart, Gaspare found joy in cheering on the Mets, spending time bowling, and indulging his well-known love of sweets. He didn't need much to be content—just family nearby, a good game on, and dessert within reach. Gaspare will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his quiet strength, gentle presence, and unwavering love for his family. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, departing at 9:15 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita's R.C. Church, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, February 3, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
