Obituary of Cristina "Nina" Murante

Cristina “Nina” Murante, age 83, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026.  She was the devoted daughter of the late Bernadino and Concetta Murante; beloved mother of Michael Murante (Kaitlynn); loving Nanny of Andrew, Madison, Mia and Mikey; devoted aunt of Teresa Parisi (Joseph), Ann Marie Sigona (Angelo), Lee Anne Balzarini (Robert) and Cristina Bottalico (Patsy). She is also survived by many loving great nieces and nephews.

Nina enjoyed cooking, baking and watching the neighborhood children play outside from her porch. She was a long-time dedicated employee of Key Food. Nina was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed watching games with her grandson, Andrew. Her granddaughters, Madison and Mia also held a special place in her heart. They were always there for their Nanny to lend a helping hand when needed. Nina also loved going to Atlantic City with her family and friends. She was proud of her Italian background and enjoyed listening and singing classical Italian music. Nina will be remembered as a strong, inspirational and loving woman who always put her family first and expected the same in return. She will be dearly missed.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. on Thursday, 2/5/2026, departing at 9:45 AM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart R.C. Church at 10:30 AM. A private cremation will follow. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, 2/4/2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
