Obituary of Lynne E. DiForte

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Lynne

DiForte, who passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2026.

Lynne lived a full and loving life, born on Staten Island in 1942, she was a graduate of

Port Richmond High School and retired from JCPenney in 1998.  Lynne remained active

in her community throughout her life volunteering, participating in garden club, and

playing sports like softball, bowling, and bocci.   Lynne was preceded in death by her

beloved husband of 60 years Lucien DiForte. They built their family and home on Staten

Island, with cherished chapters in Waretown, New Jersey, and Saylorsburg,

Pennsylvania. Lynne loved to travel, go antiquing, and hosted countless family

gatherings, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Her grandchildren were the center of her world, and she delighted in spoiling them

every chance she had. When she wasn’t shopping, Lynne was creating. She was a

talented cross-stitch artist whose beautiful designs filled the walls of her home, and she

also loved to knit and sew. She was known for welcoming every new baby into the

family with a lovingly handmade blanket—each one a lasting symbol of her care and

devotion.

Lynne is survived by her loving children, Lucien DiForte Jr. (wife Jeanette Cahill),

Michael DiForte (wife Kerry DiForte, née Feeley), and Denise Reich (husband John

Reich), along with her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at Matthews Funeral Home on Wednesday February 11th from

4-8pm with the burial at Resurrection Cemetery Saturday February 14th at 11:30am.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
